What is PAEK?

PAEK (Polyaryletherketone) is thermoplastic known as high performance advanced engineering plastics with excellent mechanical and dielectric properties. It also has high fire-resistant, good chemical resistance, and can be used for high temperature applications.

What are the key benefits of PAEK?

High temperature resistance

Glass transition temperature up to 154°C and melting point of 367°C filled with glass fibre or carbon fibre, heat distortion temperature up to 316°C or more, long-term use temperature of 280°C.

Excellent mechanical properties

It is the perfect material for toughness and rigidity combination in all resins. Its strength and fatigue resistance are even better than some metal and alloy materials. After one year of use at 200°C, the tensile strength is not lost. PAEK resin have a fatigue life of 100 times longer than typical aerospace aluminium alloys.

Chemical resistance

PAEK exhibits excellent resistance to a wide range of organic and inorganic chemicals. The only solvents which will attack PAEK are concentrated nitric acid and sulphuric acids. And PAEK can completely retain its good mechanical properties in various chemical environment for a very long time such as jut fuels and hydraulic fluids.

Flame retardancy and low smoke generation

PAEK has very good flame retardant properties without any other flame-retardant additives. 1.5 mm thickness of PAEK plate can reach the UL-94V0 standard. And the amount of the smoke generated from the fire is significantly lower than other resins.

Self-lubricating and abrasion resistance

PAEK resin itself has excellent self-lubricity and wear resistance, and the resin after filling has better wear resistance and is an excellent bearing material.

Hydrolysis resistance

It can maintain good mechanical properties after long-term immersion in high temperature steam and hot water and it has the best anti-hydrolysis property of all the resins.

Dimensional stability

It has extremely low water absorption and linear thermal expansion coefficient, and its products have excellent dimensional stability in various application environments.

Electrical properties and insulation properties

PAEK has excellent insulation property in high temperature, high pressure, high speed, and high humidity environments. PAEK is ideal materials for the insulating coating for wires. The wires with PAEK based coating has better solvent resistance and crack resistance compared with traditional used Teflon wires.

PAEK is non-toxic and non-volatile due to the stable molecular structure. At the same time, our high purified PAEK was produced via advance manufacturing process
