What is PAEK?
PAEK (Polyaryletherketone) is thermoplastic known as high performance advanced engineering plastics with excellent mechanical and dielectric properties. It also has high fire-resistant, good chemical resistance, and can be used for high temperature applications.
What are the key benefits of PAEK?
High temperature resistance
Glass transition temperature up to 152°C and melting point of 372°C filled with glass fibre or carbon fibre, heat distortion temperature up to 315°C or more, long-term use temperature of 280°C.
Excellent mechanical properties
It is the perfect material for toughness and rigidity combination in all resins. Its strength and fatigue resistance are even better than some metal and alloy materials. After one year of use at 200°C, the tensile strength is not lost. PAEK resin have a fatigue life of 100 times longer than typical aerospace aluminium alloys.
Chemical resistance
In addition to the strong oxidizing acid such as high concentration concentrated sulfuric acid, it has chemical resistance similar to that of PTFE resin, and it can completely retain its mechanical properties in various chemical reagents. It is extremely excellent in corrosion resistance material. It maintains stable performance over a long period of time in jet fuels and hydraulic fluids.
Flame retardancy and low smoke generation
No need to add other flame-retardant components, that is, flame retardant properties, 1.5mm thickness of the sample can reach the UL-94V0 standard, and the amount of smoke is significantly lower than other varieties of resin.
Self-lubricating and abrasion resistance
PAEK resin itself has excellent self-lubricity and wear resistance, and the resin after filling has better wear resistance and is an excellent bearing material.
Hydrolysis resistance
It can maintain good mechanical properties after long-term immersion in high temperature steam and hot water and is the best anti-hydrolysis property of all resins.
Dimensional stability
It has extremely low water absorption and linear thermal expansion coefficient, and its products have excellent dimensional stability in various application environments.
Electrical properties and insulation properties
Excellent insulation and stable electrical properties in high temperature, high pressure, high speed, high humidity and other environments. As an insulating material for wires, PAEK is ideal for manufacturing heat resistant coated wires. This wire has better solvent resistance and stress crack resistance than the currently widely used Teflon insulated wires.
High purity, low volatility and non-toxicity
PAEK resin itself is not toxic, its molecular structure is very stable, it is not easy to produce volatiles, and the high purity resin after purification
